Isadore Tarantino MDDr. Isadore S. Tarantino is board-certified through the American Board of Dermatology for General Dermatology, and fellowship-trained through the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Originally from Southern California, he attended University of California, San Diego, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. During this time, he was actively involved in the novel multi-year Marine Resiliency Study of U.S. Marines, assessing their risk for post-traumatic stress disorder.

He attended medical school at University of Missouri, Kansas City, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He graduated at the top of his class with the highest academic honors of Summa Cum Laude.

Dr. Tarantino attended a one-year Preliminary Internship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Upon completion, he served as Chief Surgical Resident during his Dermatology residency at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Thereafter, he completed an intensive Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs) fellowship at DermSurgery Associates and Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX.

During his fellowship, he trained under the world-renowned dermatologic surgeon, Dr. Leonard Goldberg, a second-generation trainee of Dr. Frederic E. Mohs, who developed the Mohs surgical technique. Over the course of Dr. Tarantino’s Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs) fellowship, he trained extensively in Mohs and reconstructive surgery, where he gained mastery in treating skin cancer, including Mohs for melanoma, and facial reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Tarantino spends his free time with his wife and three children. They enjoy attending Kansas City sporting events and going for family walks with their two dogs. He is also an active runner and has competed in triathlons, as well as the Kansas City Hospital Hill half-marathon.
